Hydrologic Science at Boise State University
"Hydrologic science deals with the occurrence, distribution, circulation, and properties of water on the earth. It is clearly a multidisciplinary science, as water is important to and affected by physical, chemical, and biological processes within all compartments of the earth system: the atmosphere, glaciers and ice sheets, solid earth, rivers, lakes, and oceans."
National Research Council
The Department of Geosciences offers a Master of Science in Hydrologic Science and emphases to degrees in Geology (BS, MS, Ph.D) and Geophysics (BS, MS, PhD). The Hydrologic Science program was created to train students in the diverse field of surface and subsurface aqueous environments. The Hydrologic Science curriculum is designed to meet the educational requirements for certification by the American Institute of Hydrology with concentrations in either surface hydrology, groundwater hydrology, or aqueous geochemistry.
