IAG/AIG-GEOMORPHLIST General Information (March 2004)

Note: All aspects of these policies and procedures are subject to change at any time.

IAG-GEOMORPHLIST is a moderated electronic mail distribution list for geomorphologists and those working in related fields as a service of the International Association of Geomorphologists. It is used for professional communication on topics of interest to geomorphologists. IAG-GEOMORPHLIST is NOT set up as a "chat" list for informal discussions.

Disclaimer...Opinions expressed in material distributed through IAG-GEOMORPHLIST are those of the originator of the message and not necessarily shared by the moderator, the Department of Geosciences at Boise State University,  Boise State University, or the International Association of Geomorphologists.

If you do not receive messages for a few weeks, you may wish to contact the moderator to see if something has gone wrong. The moderator does NOT make a concerted effort to see who is not receiving messages. That is left up to the individual. Members of the list who have undelivered messages repeatedly returned to the moderator WILL be removed from the list and will have to re-join when their network problems are fixed.

Preparing messages for IAG-GEOMORPHLIST:

IAG-GEOMORPHLIST is international in scope and includes members from many different cultural backgrounds.

Replying to a message

To contact the originator of a message, send a note to that person’s e-mail address (typically at the top of the message or in the body of the message), NOT to the moderator’s address. Do NOT use the "auto reply" command, because that may send your reply to the moderator, not the originator.  Your reply will not be forwarded, nor will it be posted unless it is of obvious interest to the entire list.
